Performance Management Specialist
Support growth, manage performance cycles, and help teams thrive in a culture built on feedback, trust, and continuous improvement.
Our promise:
- You choose how you'll work with us: we use remote first and our offices in Timpuri Noi Square (Bucharest);
- We support your career growth through continuous learning and mentorship programs;
- We promise you a feedback-driven culture that inspires healthy communication;
- A friendly, professional, and supportive team is waiting for their new teammate.
- A bunch of people with common hobbies and interests (sailing, football, running marathons, tennis, music, etc.) are ready to welcome you;
- A community driven by courage and creativity (we have our beer and our band that sings about us) is challenging you to have serious fun with us;
- We designed benefits that give you the power to create balance in life, on and off work.
As a Performance & Development Specialist, you will:
- Act as a primary point of contact for managers and team leads on all performance management topics, offering both hands-on support and advisory guidance throughout the full performance cycle—from quarterly check-ins and probation reviews to performance improvement follow-ups;
- Provide proactive, practical support to Performance Managers (PFMs) and mentees by clarifying process steps, assisting with scheduling, documentation, and follow-ups, and ensuring a smooth experience for all stakeholders involved;
- Participate actively in performance-related discussions, including cases of low performance, by preparing relevant data, capturing key insights, and co-developing action plans with managers;
- Monitor and analyze performance-related data, such as evaluation results, probation outcomes, follow-up actions, performance improvement plans, and career upgrade proposals, translating insights into clear reports and actionable recommendations;
- Coordinate career development processes, including role transitions and career upgrades, ensuring all documentation is complete and process milestones are achieved;
- Own and continuously improve the performance management toolkit (communication templates, feedback forms, tracking tools, and internal dashboards) to ensure ease of use, accuracy, and consistency across the organization;
- Proactively track key deadlines and process milestones, keeping managers and team members engaged and accountable throughout the performance cycle;
- Identify recurring operational challenges and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to propose and implement process improvements that enhance both efficiency and user experience;
- Collaborate closely with People Operations, People Business Partners, and other internal partners to drive performance-related initiatives, bringing an operational perspective to strategic discussions and contributing to a culture of continuous growth and feedback.
What about you?
- You have 4+ years of experience in HR, Organizational Development, or People Operations, with a strong focus on performance management processes;
- Excellent understanding of performance management cycles, employee relations, and people data reporting;
- Comfortable working hands-on with operational processes, documentation, and performance-related conversations;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage naturally with managers and employees on sensitive topics like low performance or role upgrades;
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple ongoing processes and priorities;
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and reliable, with strong follow-up and task management skills;

Nice to have:

Our process starts here. What should you expect next?
- An initial chat with our Recruiter – to get to know each other, learn about your experience, and tell you more about Zitec and the role.
- A conversation with your future coordinator and one of your future teammates, to dive deeper into the role, team dynamics, and see how we’d work together.
- A practical assessment – a short performance data tracking or case handling exercise.
- A final conversation with the People Operations team – to wrap up, clarify any last questions, and talk about next steps.
