DevOps Team Lead
Our promise:
You choose how you work: remote-first or at our offices in Timpuri Noi Square, Bucharest (during the onboarding process); backed by benefits designed to support your life on and off work. 🏘️
We support your career through continuous learning, coaching, and mentorship, all within a feedback-driven environment that inspires healthy communication.
You’ll join a friendly, creative team that shares cool hobbies (from sports to music) and knows how to have serious fun together (yes, we really have our own beer and sailing team!)
As a DevOps Lead, you will:
Build and operate
Design, build and operate cloud infrastructure hands-on;
Own the technically difficult work: complex migrations, incident root-cause analysis, architecture decisions that others will build on;
Review your team's infrastructure code and designs, and raise the technical bar through that review;
Occasionally assist in addressing critical incidents or perform planned maintenance outside of regular business hours.
Lead people
Lead and mentor DevOps engineers of different seniority levels, providing technical guidance, support and assessment on skill development;
Own performance conversations and growth plans for your direct reports;
Help calibrate workload and capacity across accounts, together with the department lead.
Improve how we work
Continuously assess and improve DevOps processes, workflows, and toolchains to optimize efficiency, quality, and speed of delivery;
Contribute to the department's technical direction and roadmap, and translate it into concrete initiatives for your group;
Drive the adoption of automation across deployment, testing, and monitoring.
Implement monitoring and alerting solutions that detect issues before clients report them, and use performance data to decide what to fix next.
Work with others
Collaborate closely with development, operations, security and QA teams to ensure smooth software delivery;
Communicate project status, risks and technical trade-offs to both client stakeholders and internal management, adjusting the level of detail to the audience;
Work with security colleagues to integrate security practices into the DevOps workflow, including access control and vulnerability management.
Support the business
Lead and validate effort and timeline estimations;
Occasionally work with the sales team during presales: technical discovery calls, solution recommendations, and input for RFPs and RFIs.
What about you?
At least 6 years of experience as a DevOps or Infrastructure Engineer, with a strong focus on automating software delivery and infrastructure management;
Experience leading technical work and guiding other engineers, formally as a lead, or informally as the person the team relies on for direction. Direct mentoring experience matters more to us than a previous job title;
Deep, hands-on expertise in at least one major cloud provider (GCP, Azure or AWS);
Working knowledge of at least one other cloud provider, and the ability to map concepts across them;
Deep expertise in infrastructure as code: Terraform specifically;
Containerization and orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes, including hands-on experience with a managed offering (GKE, AKS or EKS);
Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Go, or Bash);
Strong Linux knowledge, including running services in production: NginX or Apache, and at least one relational database;
Solid networking fundamentals for cloud environments: TCP/UDP, HTTP/SSL, DNS, DHCP, and ideally BGP;
Experience configuring monitoring and logging solutions: an ELK/EFK stack, or Prometheus/Grafana;
Comfortable delivering technical presentations to internal and external audiences.
Professional English, written and spoken.
Nice to have
Experience with configuration management tooling, particularly Ansible;
Experience with presales calls and building implementation effort estimations;
Experience working in a services or consultancy setup, across multiple client accounts;
Service mesh, policy-as-code, or platform engineering experience (Envoy, OPA, internal developer platforms);
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS);
A professional-level cloud certification: Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Cloud Architect; Microsoft Certified Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Solutions Architect Expert; AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect – Professional
HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate.

A get-to-know HR Discussion with your recruiter, Alexandra;
A first conversation with the Infrastructure & Platform Engineering team (approx. 2h) - the role, the context, how we work, the projects, and a few real scenarios;
A practical exercise - sent to you by email after the first conversation. It is designed to take around 4-6 hours;
A technical deep dive with the same team (approx. 2h) — we go through your exercise together, then explore the areas we care about most: Kubernetes, Terraform, cloud architecture.
Our recruitment process is designed to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive.
