As a Chief Accountant at Zitec, you will:

• Take full responsibility for the review, supervision and control of all accounting entries (journal entries, payroll, asset capitalization, AP, AR etc.);

• Maintain and enforce an internal review process for all accounting operations;

• Lead the monthly closing process ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled, accruals are booked, and provisions are reviewed and posted to comply with reporting deadlines;

• Prepare and file statutory financial statements in accordance with Romanian RAS and statutory deadlines;

• Ensure timely and accurate tax declarations, including corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, SAF-T and local taxes;

• Lead the audit process by providing high-quality documentation and technical explanations;

• Liaise with external tax consultants and Romanian tax authorities;

• Implement and maintain strong internal controls over accounting processes;

• Lead and mentor a team of accountants, ensuring tasks are clearly assigned, executed accurately, and reviewed properly;

• Foster a culture of accountability, control, and continuous improvement within the accounting department;

• Collaborate effectively with the Reporting Department to ensure the consistency and reliability of financial data used in reporting, budgeting, and cash planning;

• Support upgrades or integrations of ERP/accounting systems and contribute to the automation of recurring tasks.
  

What about you?

• Industry Experience: 5+ years in accounting, ideally in professional services or tech sectors;

• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Romanian Accounting Standards (RAS)

• Software Proficiency: Advanced Excel and experience with an ERP (Navision is a plus)

• Certified Expert: Bachelor’s degree and CECCAR certification; ACCA is a plus.
